The other day I got home from physio and was pretty tired. If you watch the video below you’ll see part of what I had been working on that day with Marc. The hardest part of it all was the effect on my blood pressure. It drops, and the more work I have to do (like when Mark takes his hands away), the more it drops. To the point where I know I need to sit down before I fall down.
The video needs some explaining – because if you don’t know what is going on you will leave with the mistaken impression that I am standing on my own. As in previous tries at standing, Mark has my feet blocked with foam and my knees blocked with pillows and a #3 soccer ball – simple but effective. What is different now is that he actually, for a short period of time, lets go of my hips. I am standing, holding on with four fingers with only my knees blocked. What this means is that my trunk control is improving bit by bit and now I have enough to stand for a few minutes until I am ready to pass out.
I was tired! And that is where, apparently, Yoda comes from within. You know those times when you mix up your words? Your cognitive abilities seem to slip? Well that was me after dinner. And boy did that make the kids laugh. Can’t remember what I said – but it was true Yoda!
We are at the waiting stage again – waiting for the plumbing inspection. If you look closely you will see that all the lovely compacted gravel within the foundation walls has been dug up in order to lay the electrical and the plumbing…but it’s in!
